Giving Back This August: Baxter Supports the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society
Every month, we shine a light on a local cause that means something to our community. This August, that cause is right in our own backyard: the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, a Lewiston shelter working every day to care for animals and the people who love them.
Their mission says it best — strengthening our community by supporting humane care of animals and fostering the human-animal bond. Just up the road from us on Strawberry Avenue, GAHS does far more than find pets their forever homes. They run a pet food pantry for families who need a hand, offer spay/neuter assistance, support foster and volunteer programs, provide humane education, and care for community cats and animals in need across the greater Androscoggin area. It adds up to thousands of animals helped every year, powered by an incredible community of donors, volunteers, and fosters.
All month long, $1 from every Blueberry sold at the pub goes directly to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society. So your favorite Maine blueberry beer does a little extra good this August. Order one, order a round, and know you’re helping an animal down the street find their way home.
And if you’re ready to do even more, GAHS always welcomes new adopters, volunteers, fosters, and supporters. Stop in, raise a Blueberry, and help us give back to the animals — and the neighbors — who make our corner of Maine so special.
