Kelp on the way – WeGo Episode 4

It’s no secret at Baxter we love all things Maine. And of course that includes our abundance of amazing seafood. After all, few things pair as well with an ice cold Stowaway then a rich, buttery lobster roll. With that said, we were surprised to learn how vital seaweed is to our water’s delicate ecosystem.

As it turns out, kelp farming not only provides a valuable source of income for our local fishing crews, but also essential carbon capture for the ocean. In fact, aquaculture continues to play a bigger role in the health of our seas which is exactly what Kat and Carolyn discover in this latest episode of WeGo!
